HE DID IT ALL!!

An ordinary young boy who dreamt big, went on to pursue his dreams by working for people and making himself the best version of himself everyday of his life. He inspires the youth of our country as it is never too early to start serving for the society. This young man is, Sakib Mahmud. The DYDF-India Team had the great opportunity to talk to him.

he “I attended the Literature department at “Creative Talent Hunt 2018”. I became the champion at the Upazila, District and Division Level. I also took part in Nation level but unfortunately I could not make it to the top. But as a runner up I achieved a medal along with a certificate and prize money from Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.”smiled and started to speak with great enthusiasm imagining hard work paying off.

Creative Talent Hunt 2018- Runner up

He started off from his hometown Chapainawabganj, a district in Bangladesh. His school was Asian School and College, Nachol, Chapainawabganj. He is a proud fresher of University of Dhaka, Sanskrit Department. He has many We see how extraordinarily humble he is. He is working with “Nachol Manobik Unnoyon Society '' where they distribute winter clothes and blankets to the underprivileged people in his hometown. He also proved himself as the “Head of Media Promotions'' in the event of Bangladesh’s first Cancer Awareness Week of “Bangladesh Youth Association of Cancer Awareness'' in November of 2020. For awakening the people they arranged many live sessions where they invited different classes of people like Teachers, Doctors, professors, recovered patients as guests. Even they are thinking of arranging at least one program every week to increase awareness among the youth generation.

He is engaged as a Head of Public Relations in “Raise for a Change” where he mentioned it is an organization fighting against sexual harassment. They are working anonymously for female safety in our society and also do advocacy for the females who actually underwent sexual harassment.

During the interview he also mentioned he is also the Marketing Executive for an event “Interactive Cares National Talent Showcase, 2021” which will be launching on 21 February, 2021. He is currently working as a Youth Director of Youth Bangla. You might have known about the event “Youth Bangla Victory Festival 2020” where he was in incharge of the writing department. Youth Bangla is such an organization where they try to utilize the youth of our country basing on their intellect and enthusiasm to work for Bangladesh, he also mentioned about four and a half thousand youth directors are working here.

Ongoing with the interview, he added “ I made a documentary on an old woman named “Khuki” who is a newspaper seller who made headlines all over the country; it raised funds which made 35,000 taka for her. But, after the news became viral our Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina took her responsibility. I had to use that money for other social works. Other than that, I collected money worth 1 Lakh taka for social welfare and serving towards the underprivileged and the sick.” He has made us proud; he has made Bangladesh proud.

We asked him about one of the most memorable incidents in his life, “It is not very long since my viva for admission at University of Dhaka. I was asked why I left my previous college and came to DU. The only thing that came into my mind was; it was my foundation to build myself up. It is the best university in Bangladesh with all the facilities that could fill up the void I felt to contribute to the society.”

Sakib seems to be an all rounder. He mentioned he is doing TV anchoring; his charm also led him towards being an RJ at “Radio Baksho” and also craved the way of modelling. He is also currently with “Purbansho” as a voice artist. He chose debating as his journey started way back in school around 2013. At present, he is continuing his passion in debate with “Kabi Jashim Uddin debating club” and “Tarkik Songho”.

From social work to working on his passion, he did it all at a very young age but this is not the limit for him. He wants to become a Police Officer in the future. He is an inspiration to many young people; one can do everything and anything as long as it is ethical.
